[well, Akira is no closer to figuring out what the ever-living fuck is happening here, not even after the appearance of their three furried friends. and he might be getting juuuuust a little bit restless as he trudges his way back to his room, cabin fever settling over him like a constricting blanket. captivity has never suited this one, after all. but hey, maybe he can sleep away some of this tension and wake up tomorrow fully refreshed and with renewed vigor]
[but that's when he sees a familiar head of hair meandering through the hallways]
Ash?
[well, sleep is one distraction, but idle conversation is another]
[ maybe this is just the sort of thing you do if you're restless and suffering from cabin fever - you prowl the hallways like an angry cat, and wear a hole in the carpet like it's your job. or that's what ash has been doing anyway.
it's probably fine. ]
...
[ oh wait, what's that? a convenient distraction? ]
it's not like he hasn't seen death and such before, but this is something vastly different. And disturbing, given their circumstances here. Ash doesn't get far after the body announcement - he doesn't go back to his room, in case Nia and Isaac need some time without an awkward third party just hovering around.
But he has just flopped himself in the hallway, back to one of the walls and one knee propped up to let him rest an arm against it and rub tiredly at the bridge of his nose.
[Akira, on the other hand, isn't used to death in the slightest. the closest he had ever come to seeing it firsthand was observing Okumura's mental shutdown on live television, so watching Haruka suffer in agony before collapsing was. . .]
[. . .]
[it doesn't help that his patience is running raw thanks to the pain in his back and Akechi's general Akechi-ness. so it probably doesn't come as a surprise that he's moving rather quickly (and stiffly) through the hallways to get back to his room]
[that is, until he spots ash]
. . . Ash. . .
[he stops, his expression softening as he gives his fellow captive a once-over]
[ well, despite just seeing a woman get gored by a trident, ash is heading to the kitchen. for a snack, sure, but he's aiming for the freezer first. once the execution had finished, and he did a general loop back to his room, before heading out to maybe get some actual ice on his hand.
[CHAOS BUDDY IS. . . hanging out in the kitchen, incidentally enough! he has a mug of coffee cradled in his hands and he's blowing on same gently so it doesn't burn his mouth. even though he's eager to gulp it all down]
[ ash is on the lookout when he wanders through the mansion, specifically looking out for someone. one hand is tucked in his pocket, almost a little warily.
he wanders into the (throws dart) lounge, and zeros in on the person he finds there. digging his hand out of his pocket, he pulls out a little baggy and sets it down on akira's head. ]
[that works because Akira spends a lot of time in the lounge!! he starts once as the bag is dropped onto his head, then looks up to see the culprit and--]
[ Well this has been a fun weekend. Great, brilliant even. Let's not do any of it again.
Ash is just sat outside his room, back against the wall and starting at the ceiling like he's not really focusing on any of it - what's going on around him, what's happened, or even what the ceiling itself looks like. ]
[surprisingly, after all of that. . . that mess, Akira seems. . . calm? but that can be chalked up to the fact that he's reached the point of TOO MUCH BAD, MUST SHUT DOWN AND FOCUS ALL ATTENTION AND EFFORTS ON OTHERS TO COPE. not that he's giving any indication of that as he slides up next to Ash and quietly rests his back against the wall, his gaze also flickering up to the ceiling]
[ welp. this has been a fun day. breaking into drawers, finding out some things about paintings. ash has got the little triangle on his necklace chain, and occasionally finds himself fiddling with the chain throughout the day.
he's just wandering the halls mostly, thinking over things that have happened. ]
[ There's a note slipped under Akira's door, written in crayon as is the way here. ]
As much as she probably could, Monobun confirmed that there's no option for a tiebreaker in a double vote. So splitting a vote equally would probably result in a double execution.
There's no name sign off, but he's drawn a couple of cat ears at the bottom. Like a dumbass code, don't judge his life. ]
[and then, shortly afterwards, Ash will find a notecard with a THUMBS UP symbol written on it! it's not signed, but he can probably get that it's a confirmation that the message has been received]
[ idek that was wild but here's ash and he's just stood by the pond with the duckies. he looks kinda annoyed, and when he flings some duck feed it sure does go far.
[THAT WAS SO WILD AND AKIRA IS MISERABLE. . . so it's not surprising that he finds himself wandering again, meandering outside, drifting towards the duck pond where the incriminating footprint was kept]
[he stops when he gets there, because Ash beat him to it]
[ ... Well. Everything that happened there sure happened. Without really saying anything, Ash is just going to walk to the door. Fuck this supernatural shit, he's so tired. ]
[WELL. EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED SURE HAPPENED. Akira gives Cloud one last wave before he disappears, and then trots after Ash into the hallway just outside the museum]
[ what's up akira, welcome to the gym. ash is just sat on one of the benches, with his axe loosely grasped in one hand. he waves his free hand in lazy greeting when akira shows up. ]
[and sometime after the mini-event, a very exhausted Akira is going to shuffle through the house like a zombie, wailing out a certain name until the owner of said name finds him]
[ to be fair to ash, after those first couple of weeks he hadn't really bothered with the mansion's alcohol supply since. but not tonight, tonight is a night for... having a drink.
there are a couple of bottles on the table, and ash is just sat with his back against the sofa, rather than on it, staring daggers into the contents of his glass. everything's fine. ]
[Akira still isn't much of a drinker, and likely won't be one until he's mature enough to appreciate the complicated flavors of wine and liquor. but when he stumbles on Ash in the lounge enjoying a cocktail, he stops. . .]
[he steps into the room]
[and he mutters, voice a bit wry]
They say drinking alone is worse for your health than drinking with a friend.

week 0, wednesday afternoon idk my bff time
[because someone (read: Akira) is trying to get Ash's attention from behind by throwing tiny balled up pieces of paper at the back of his head]
nothing can go wrong here
Ash is just gonna sit here for a little
bit
longer
... and then pick up all the little paper balls, walk over to Akira and dump them over his head. ]
