[ this week has been garbage!! but yeah, luckily kara is already here, leaning back comfortably in a chair with his sake. he'll offer ash a nod, though. ]

What're you drinking?

[ because while he's very focused on his own drink, even pouring another glass because he sure downed that first one quick, he's interested in that there sake too. because that is a shallow as hell cup. ]

Sake - rice wine.

[ there is a second cup, so. ]

Did you want to try it?

[ hm. ]

Sure.

[ he'll take any alcohol right now, m'sword. ]

Ever tried vodka?

I did on the bus. Not my favorite, but it gets the job done.

[ anyway. he'll pour the second cup, and hold it out for ash. ]

[ oh. give him a moment here.

he digs out some other bottles and stuff and (handwaves aggressively) now there's a small but serviceable bloody mary on the counter. ]

Vodka straight's one thing. Try something like this instead.

take the cup

and sniff it thoughtfully. hm. ]

[ hm. kara, in turn, sniffs suspiciously at the bloody mary, but he takes it in his other, now-clawed hand and takes a sip. considers it for a moment. and then nods. ]

It's definitely better like this.

[ literally dragon. ash has little lion ears on his head and a long tail with a little tuft at the end, because I keep never mentioning this in my tags. He looks amused. ]

You don’t normally drink it straight unless, I dunno, you’re really into that. [ he says, drinking it straight ] It’s normally a mixer.

[ speaking of drinks though — ash take a sip of the sake, and looks like he’s thinking about what he’s drinking. ]

Hm. It’s alright.

[ he asks, dryly. ]

Sake's simpler. No need to worry about mixing it to make it tolerable.

Doesn't taste like anything I've had before. Sounds like the kind of stuff you'd get coming out of Calvard, but I'm starting to get the impression there's some parallels across the board there.

Wouldn't know without going there myself. But just about anything's better than this place, if you ask me.

Never been to Calvard either, but some of the aesthetics and stuff looks similar.

If our war ever ends, I'm going to see more of these worlds. Masamune-kou would have liked that, I think.

Travelling's not bad. I've done a decent amount of it now, and ... yeah. I recommend it.

I know. If we were facing normal enemies, I wouldn't be so worried - but if they were normal enemies, I wouldn't have been summoned in the first place.

kara knows. he's just fucking teasing, but it's hard to tell when you don't know what to look for. like the small smile he's hiding behind the cup as he takes another drink ]
