[ i'm going for the library because that's just who i am as a person. phoenix might want to look up upon entering the library, because there sure is a teenager halfway up one of the bookcases, rifling around through one of the shelves.

he doesn't look away from his scavenging when he's disturbed -- he just holds out a book with one hand. ]

Catch this for me, will ya?

[ Think fast, Phoenix. He's letting go of the book. ]

[ phoenix is here to study, despite his appearances. curious to see ash up there, though. he looks up as he approacheth. ]
Hm....? Catch what?

[ if anything, he steps out of the way of the trajectory of the book. it goes splat on the ground. ]

[ he jerks his head at the book, splayed dramatically on the ground. ]

[ eventually, he bends over to pick it up. ]

All books are important.

[ he's holding out another one, ready to drop! ]

But that one looks interesting. Not having to climb up and down this ladder every time I find one's a bonus too.

Particularly important, then. [ this time, he holds out his hand to catch it. ]

Catch was never my greatest game. But I'll do my best.

[ wherever ash is, phoenix finds him and offers him....... a pudding. ]

[ it's food though, so alright. he'll be taking that. ]

[ he has no dessert memories, it's a tragedy. ]

That's just kinda creepy.

[ But he's taking that spoon and cracking open the lid on the pudding? it's food. he'll eat it. ]

And just to ruin the mood a little-- this is the point the mansion decides to break the levity and share a memory!
