No. He can go wherever he wants.

If he's already been summoned, though, there's no need to summon him again. Keeping a summoned god in the human relies on the summoner's vigor levels and lifespan, so he'd know if something was wrong with me.

...He wouldn't sense any changes while I'm here, no. If I'm cut off from my magic, so is he.

But he's still alive, even though you're both cut off from your magic. Which you just told me he needs to keep existing?

I can't answer how it might work with me here instead of home with my magic, Ash. It's not a situation I've been in before.

[ SIGH. ]

The way the magic works at home, if I ran out of vigor or my lifespan runs out, the summoning would be cancelled and he would return to the gods' realm. It wouldn't kill him or anything like that.

Hey, Bril. When you say lifespan, do you just mean until you die? Or is it like.. constantly draining your life as long as you've got something summoned.

It refers to how long I have until I die. It's not a constant drain, but if Agni were to use too much power if I saif the spell again, I would lose more time. Odds are, I would probably die before Agni even heard me call.

And it’s worth that kind of cost, having this Agni around?

To me, it is. Having Agni there means the barrier surrounding Atera is perfect, and my people are safe. Having him there means we have a way of fighting back against sura attacks, instead of only trying to endure them. He's capable of saving far more lives than I ever could on my own.

[ she smiles. ]

I don't mind losing some of my lifespan for that.

You're the kind of person who sees self-sacrifice as a worth endeavour, huh? What about the people who care about you? Can't imagine they're too happy about it.

Anyone who might have cared died a long time ago, Ash. Everyone else only knows me as the priestess of fire, nothing more. If anything happens to me, I'll be replaced, just like I replaced my mother.
