[ There's only so many times you can prowl around a place before you start going a little stir crazy, honestly. Ash has been to so many rooms by now that he's just wandering the corridors to kill some time.
[Says this passerby, who's wandering just the same. He doesn't seem as restless, but he does sure wish there was something more to do. Or, like, a way out. That would be great, too.]
[So, Ash is presumably out here by the duck pond, checking out the area as he stands near the water. Good for him! If he's perceptive, he might have noticed Hunter walking around the area sans arm, frowning as he tries to locate something.
It's too bad Ash is about to be distracted from that sight, because that all of a sudden, a disembodied arm launches itself out of the pond with no warning. All the ducks scatter as soon as the still dripping wet hand clutches onto his ankle.]
[ maybe if a distinct lack of limbs hadn’t very quickly become the norm around here, ash would have been the tiniest bit more perceptive of someone wandering around without their missing limb nearby at the very least.
because he wasn’t focusing, he does get taken for a total sucker when hunter’s missing arm looms out of the pond and latches onto him. the response is about what you’d expect, with a lot more anger and a violent jerking motion as he slams his foot down at an angle to try and smash his clingy friend off of him ]
[The arm dislodges itself almost immediately once he starts kicking, scurrying past him away from the pond. It'll just continue on this path unless Ash does something to stop it.
Meanwhile, it seems like Hunter doesn't quite realize what happened either, because from his spot behind Ash:]
even with hunter yelping in pain in the background, ash’s attention is still on the skittering arm. he doesn’t want to go after it? but that sure is someone’s limb just going wild out here in the open? after a long, drawn out moment, ash just sighs and runs after the arm. get back here!! ]
[As Ash starts chasing after the arm, Hunter notices his muddy limb just kind of skittering across the grass. As soon as he sees it, he starts to give chase as well, calling out:]
[ y’know. after hearing that SOMEONE used books to set a fire, ash is gonna make his way straight down to the library in the evening and start grabbing some books to store away in his room again.
he trusts none of y’all to handle books with care anymore. ]
[If it were earlier in the day, Hunter would have excused himself as soon as he realized someone else was in the room with him. In fact, he wouldn't have even been in such a public area in the first place. But after speaking with a good deal of people about what happened, he's trying not to shut himself off as much, even if he still doesn't look too great.
He watches Ash do that, but he doesn't speak up to say anything until it's aware it might just look like he's staring. After a moment:]
Yeah, I know. Actually, I had an idea for something that might be useful that I wanted to give you a heads up about. You know how people were saying in that meeting that they got their powers back as a reward for voting right?

[ He even sounds done. ]
Man, if they hadn't taken all my stuff I could've at least played some Vantage Master to kill time.
no subject
[There's a 95% chance she'll say no, but it's worth a shot, maybe. More importantly:]
What's Vantage Master?
no subject
Card game. You don't have it where you're from?
no subject
[He shakes his head.]
Nah. Is it like Magic: The Gathering?

[ He tugs the book down and drops it on top of his other collected tomes. ]
I think you've probably said that enough times today.

[But.]
You don't need to worry about it.

[ with about seven books in his arms, Ash rounds one of the tables and drops them down on the surface there with a significant thud. ]

Hey. What’s up?

How much of a cost was there, for the leg?
[ what's context, don't know her. ]
no subject
[He shakes his head.]
I just asked Plum and she said it was a good idea. There wasn’t a cost or anything.
