[ they are crime blood brothers now. it's in her nature. ]
We'd all be in the same state, or going that way if it was widespread. [ He sounds a little monotone, but... the point is made. ] Although the kitchen might not be a bad place to look for traces of it.
[ ayabe is as ayabe does. still, brilith isn't wrong-- ]
It could happen suddenly because someone planned and only targetted one person. [ He'd been locked in his room all night, but the fact the doors had just locked of their own accord at the same time? Dodgy.
Someone wanted no interference.]
We can do. You never know, maybe someone got sloppy.
...You think she was murdered, then. But why? She didn't seem like a bad person, and she got along with most of us fine, didn't she?
[ what would someone have against haruka, specifically? and to do such a thing so quickly after they'd all arrived here, to move so quickly and rashly and without any care the lives around them... it's like something a sura would do. ]
I don't know much about poisons. What would we even be looking for?
...You make it sound like we were brought here like cattle to be slaughtered.
[ well. all things considered, that’s probably the most practical assumption to make. but brilith doesn’t have to like it. ]
If there’s anything we can do to prevent that from happening, I want to try. None of us asked to be here, no matter how much they insist that we accepted an invitation.
[ she won't because shess is the only exception to that rule ]
That may be part of it, too - even the lesser sura tend to be violent. But the superior sura... many of them kill for fun, if given the chance. At least that's how it seems. My home may have taken a lot less damage, otherwise.
That, and more. They're much stronger than humans, even the strongest of magicians. And they have magic of their own, called transcendentals - very powerful skills that most humans can't use, and can't easily fight back against. It gives them a great advantage over us, when they can make it to our realm.
Yes. Even if you offer them exactly what they want, they'll often choose to kill anyway. It's... easier for them. Maybe even fun.
[ sagara had certainly seemed to be enjoying herself. the idea that master blue may be just like that... hits a little too close to home. her only condolence is that sagara wouldn't bother with a fake name. ]
...I hope you're wrong about Master Blue.
[ there's no bite to it, though. someone is dead, after all. what else are they meant to believe? ]
[ ash is valid and in this one instance, she really hates that. maybe if they weren't being held against their will, it would be easier to believe this is just a fluke. ]
Well. I suppose we'll find out when we figure out what happened to Haruka.

[ ayabe fainting from all the chaos aside. ]
Should we check, then? Although... I doubt I would be much help, right now.

And sure, maybe she was fine and got along with people. But maybe she came across something she shouldn't have?
[ It's always a possibility. ]
Dunno. I'm not a poison expert either. Small bottles? Weird smells? Traces of liquids or powers?

A sura - it's the third race, in my universe. They're monsters who kill simply because they can, with no regard for any life other than their own.

It's a power thing, ain't it. If it gets you want you want, then to hell with whatever you crush under your heel on the way. [ Dislike. ]
