Yes, it's how I got the Staff of Agni back, too. I wasn't expecting to regain one of my spells, though, even for a single use. It makes me wonder if something's changed somehow.
... You think we might be having an affect on this place? It's Blue that gives them out, so if he's gone from being able to bring us physical objects to giving us spells and stuff, maybe that says something about their power now?
Yes, I think we are. As things change every week and we learn more, and react differently, there's no reason to believe that Master Blue isn't changing with us. The notes Phoenix found proved that Master Blue has been at this for a long time, and the fact that we've been here so long is already abnormal, apparently. It's possible that it's given them a way to work around their usual limits.
But if that's true, then we should assume the same of the house itself, of course - so it will be looking for more ways to bring us down while Master Blue tries to help us find a way out.
I'm not sure what the average is. Varian said his group only lasted for about a week.
...That still leaves us with the problem of how to separate the two, though. If anyone's found a way to do so, or even has a theory, they haven't said anything about it yet. At least, nothing they've shared with the rest of us.
Is it even possible to do without killing Blue? The stipulation seems to be that straight up killing them ain't the answer, but there's no guarantee that whatever we try to do in the long run isn't going to kill them anyway.
Mm. The major difference between us is the time frame and the fact that we were stripped of all our powers and items when we were brought here. Without those disadvantages, maybe it was easier to... finish things quickly.
[ a dark theory, but not an illogical one, she thinks. her own powers could kill a number of people in one fell swoop, if she cared to use them that way. ]
I don't know the answer to that, Ash. All I can say is that if we don't want to be stuck here like all the rest, then we have to find a way to try. We don't seem to have any other solution right now.
[ ... i mean. yeah. ] It's harder to wipe out a nation if you're running in with swords, not soldats. It makes sense. [ Unfortunately. ]
I'm not saying we don't try, I'm just throwing out theories. It's gotta be possible, and if we can save Blue that's a bonus. But ... [ he shrugs. They've gotta split them apart some way. ]
I think it's all or nothing. I mean, the house'll keep pulling people in otherwise, yeah? [ the house is the worst. ] And if it's got a read on our homes, maybe they'll pull from there again next. If we don't stop it.
[ she smiles, but there's no humor in it. it's sharper than usual somehow, like she's ready to tear this place apart, piece by piece, with her bare hands. ]
All or nothing, then. I don't know about you, Ash, but I think I'd rather like to show this house that it chose the wrong worlds to target.
We still have Luna, and we still have our own arsenal, courtesy of Master Blue. As long as no one gets too reckless, I think we stand a good enough chance.
... As long as the Doc doesn't emotionally compromise herself too much. Dunno how much I trust her not to tear off her own arms if she thinks it'd save someone else.

No, I doubt they'd be that generous with us. It was a reward for voting correctly.

Ahh, yeah they do that don't they. That's how I got my poleaxe.

... Yeah, it's a bit of a double edged sword. If Blue's stronger, the house is gonna be too. The sooner we can split 'em the better.

All or nothin'. I play the long game good, but I can speed things up if I gotta.

So do I. But we've been here long enough already, don't you think?

Eh. Years of the long game versus six weeks.... yeah. It's still long enough. ]
Let's try not to lose more people along the way, no giving the house more cards in its deck.

But as long as I have the chance to fix her, she'll get through it with the rest of us. My magic will work on her as well as it would anything else.

[ ... ] Alright. But put yourself out of commission in the purpose. Like or hate it, we need the numbers now.

As I told you before, I won't use the spell unless it's absolutely necessary. I don't plan on wasting it as long as we can keep going.
