voidbreaker | KARA and LILI

[ the second ookurikara realized that he was done, and the adrenaline began to fade, his legs had given out from under him. he'd been bleeding the whole time, from old wounds and new, and dick was not an unskilled fighter. of course this battle took a lot out of him.

at least he had help, getting to the nurse's office. it's one of the few times he'll accept it, as he lies back on the bed and just. closes his eyes for a bit, and tries to breathe.

lili will feel a weak squeeze from his hand. ]

[ well ash has been here enough times this week that he just automatically goes for the cupboards and digs out some packages, not rolls of bandages, piling them into his arms before returning to where kara and lili are. ]

... Shit I don't even know where to start with you.

[ which terrible chainsaw wound is bleeding the most intensely, help a guy out. ]

[ . . . he's still here. and she can't help the relief of that. even through everything, she is relieved.]

... Ash, hand me some.

[she'll assist. she'll move forward.]

...Shoulder.

[ his right shoulder is the worst off. the chain had gotten stuck there just deep enough to torture, but not to sever the arm. the other wound is on the left side of his torso, a lighter one but probably still bleeding profusely from all the movement.

but he is alive. ]

[ fuck he is not a medic. ]

Lili, deal with the side. Ookurikara, I'm gonna have to shift you to get at that wound-- so... I dunno. Bite something or brace yourself. [ because he's gonna try and be careful, but he'll... have to sit him up to properly get the bandages on him. he'll work quickly though, and these are the hemostatic bandages he used on akira's leg so it shouldn't bleed through as quickly. ]

[lili will deal with his side and honestly neither of them are medics?? so here's to disinfecting the injury and trying to get the bleeding to stop.]

.... mm.

I can move myself.

[ it takes a bit of struggling, gritting his teeth, and forcing himself to move through the pain. but ookurikara moves. again, he thinks of how awful it was, having to kill the only one close to a medic that they had.

that isn't his fault, though. they didn't choose dick, and he fought well. they each had the best chances they could.

he shakes his head, trying to rid himself of those thoughts as he gingerly leans back. ]

Just... get it over with.

Alright, alright. I'm on it.

[ bossy?

but he... does exactly that, he gets on with it. it takes some time to clean up the wound -- dirt and excess blood, and disinfecting the wound and then sticking down the bandage over it. heck.

at least he's not bleeding all over the bed now. ]

[ . . . . we are just trying to fix our sword.

but lili will assist where she can, falling.... quiet?

god, she's so tired that she's actually shut up without people yelling at her over it]

[ here and there, he might give a groan, or a hiss through his teeth. but kara forces himself to be still while they tend to the wounds. ]

...At least the old wounds should be gone tomorrow.

[ quiet lili is concerning, but not letting kara bleed out is ... more so, right now. honestly. ]

[ he sticks it down with some extra tape, and then sits back himself. ]

Well, you're not gonna bleed out of those ones. [ idek if he needs stitches i'ma just (waves hand) it's done. ] Or your new ones now.

[(waves hand) done! no more bleedy injuries.

but lili's going to just... sit down on the other side of kara and sigh. she reaches for his hand again, if only for something to hold onto.

but she'll look up at ash]

[ kara nods, and he'll give lili's hand a weak squeeze. ]

Thank you. You didn't have to help. [ sigh. ] ...I wish it wasn't him.

Mm. S'fine. You're a big guy, it'd be tough for one person to deal with all these wounds.

[ after a moment he just folds his arms on a spare bit of the bed and rests his head on them. he's tired. ]

... Yeah. That wasn't fair any way you look at it.

[ . . . . she reaches over kara with her free hand to pat ash on the head. this is part of her thanks. but also. please rest, ash.

but she'll sit back down and pull kara's hand closer to her, holding it gently between both of hers.]

.... none of this is fair.

...No, it isn't. But we can stop it soon, right?

[ mmrrph. he makes a kind of... grumbly noise, and then adds: ]

We'd fucking better.

.... I think I heard them say prenup today.

[she sighs faintly]

So all the teams will be one for the coming week, and all old injuries will be disappearing. I still have the serum...

[she looks over at kara - ] For the end, I think I'll give it to you.

[he'd need it more than she would, in a fight.]

[ he looks sharply at lili, and instantly regrets it when the movement pulls on his shoulder a little. there's a wince, but he tries to ignore it. ]

Only if you're sure, Lili.

But we still don't know how to summon the pink creature, right? We're just stuck waiting until it shows up.

[ ash waves a hand ]

Even if it sucks, we've got to do the pink task this week. Zenitsu's postcard mentioned it won't show up if we don't.

[she brings kara's hand up to her mouth so she can press a brief kiss to his knuckles.]

I'm sure. Don't make it worse before I can heal you. I'll make sure with Flayn that she's okay with but she and I... we both know that we're not meant to aid in a proper fight.

[ . . . . but she sighs at ash's words]

It's going to be something horrid, right?

...Alright.

[ she isn't wrong, after all. lili herself is neither strong nor experienced enough for a proper battle, and her own injuries would do her no favors. flayn might stand a higher chance, due to her training, but she, too, lacks strength. it's the logical move to let ookurikara, who was made for war, deal with it instead.

someday, though, he hopes that they can stand on the same battlefield together, if their must be another battlefield at all. ]

If it means finishing this, we'll have to deal with it no matter what it is. We'll find out tomorrow.

[ you kids ok there? ]

We don't have much choice. If it's really bad, we figure out a way to get through it with minimal damage.

[ash would get to smooch if kara didn't say no :( ]
